AgentZ is a platform to build and run AI agents. Each agent holds a placeholder in place of each secret, and its network policy allows the hosts you list.

What is AgentZ?¶

AgentZ runs your AI agents. You chat with an agent, and it can run workflows, use tools and build dashboards. AccuKnox makes it, and the source is open under the Apache-2.0 license. Start with the Introduction.

Is AgentZ an LLM gateway?¶

No. An LLM gateway forwards model calls. AgentZ runs the agents that make the calls. It does include a gateway that carries those calls to your provider. See Security model.

Is AgentZ a CNAPP?¶

No. AgentZ does not include a cloud posture scanner. It runs agents and workflows, and it limits what an agent can reach. You can build security work on it, such as an alert investigation. See Six ways teams use AgentZ.

Who runs the model?¶

You bring the model. AgentZ does not ship a model. You add a provider, such as OpenAI or Anthropic, with your own key. See Inference providers.

Where do my secrets go?¶

AgentZ keeps each secret value in a secret store inside the install. The value is write-only after you save it. The agent sees a placeholder, and a proxy swaps in the real value only for the hosts you list. See Secrets.

Can an agent reach any website?¶

No. The network policy of each agent denies a host by default. The agent reaches the hosts in its sandbox Allowed hosts, plus the AgentZ services it needs. See Allowed hosts.

What is a sandbox? Is it a separate machine?¶

A sandbox is a reusable configuration of models, packages, MCP tools, skills and allowed hosts. It is not a separate machine. Each agent uses exactly one sandbox. See Sandboxes.

Answers About Running AgentZ¶

Is AgentZ hosted or self-hosted?¶

Both. Use the hosted app at agentzharness.ai with a GitHub or Google sign-in. Or install it in your own Kubernetes cluster. For plans, see accuknox.com. See Hosted or self-hosted.

Can I draw a workflow in the web app?¶

No. The agent creates a workflow in chat. The Workflows page shows the saved graph and does not edit it. To run it on a schedule, see Schedules.

Is there a command-line tool?¶

AgentZ has no command-line tool for end users. Use the web app. For programs, create an API key.

What is the Coding workspace type?¶

Coding is a workspace type marked Preview. It has no workflows, dashboards or persistent memory. You cannot change the type after you create the workspace. These docs cover General purpose workspaces. See Organizations and workspaces.
