Send Your First Chat¶
Start a new chat, choose your agent and send one message. A reply shows that your workspace, model, sandbox and agent work together.
What You Need¶
- An agent with the status Idle. See Create an agent.
Send the First Message¶
- In the workspace sidebar, select New chat. If the sidebar shows Back to top, you are in Workspace settings. Select Back to top first. A new chat opens with a greeting that includes your name.
- Check the agent name below the prompt box. With one agent, AgentZ selects it for you. With more agents, open Choose agent and select yours. The agent stays fixed for this chat.
- Click the prompt box. It shows Put your idea, question, or next task here...

Select Send message.
Your message appears in the chat. The agent writes its reply below it.
Read What the Agent Shows¶
- Starting agent... appears while AgentZ waits for the agent. Wait until the reply appears.
- Waiting for the current step... appears when the agent is still busy with an earlier step.
- Stop run replaces Send message while the agent works. Select it to stop the agent.
Check It Worked¶
- The agent replies with text in the chat.
- The chat appears in the chat list in the sidebar. Select Search chats (the magnifier icon) above the list to find it later.
If It Does Not Work¶
- The page says No agent is ready for chat. Create an agent, or ask a workspace administrator for access. See Create an agent.
