Create a Sandbox

Create one sandbox with a name and a default model. A sandbox is a reusable configuration that your agent uses. It is not a separate machine. See Sandboxes for the full idea.

What You Need

  • A Ready workspace and a Ready inference provider. See Add a model.

Run the Sandbox Wizard

The wizard has six steps: Identity, Packages, MCP, Skills, Models and Allowed hosts. A first sandbox needs only Identity and Models. Each Next opens the next step. You make this sandbox in your workspace.

  1. In the workspace sidebar, open Workspace settings → Sandboxes, then select Add sandbox. The page New sandbox opens on the step Identity.
  2. Enter a Name, for example my-sandbox. Use lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. The name has 32 characters at most and you cannot change it later. Select Next.
  3. On Packages, change nothing. Packages are the programs an agent can run. The Required set stays selected and you cannot remove it. Select Next.
  4. On MCP, change nothing. MCP connections link outside tool servers, and you add them later. Select Next.
  5. On Skills, change nothing. Skills are saved instructions, and you add them later. Select Next.
  6. On Models, open your provider if it is closed. Switch on at least one model. The first model you switch on becomes the Default model, and the panel Selected models shows the badge Default. Select Next.
  7. On Allowed hosts, leave the list empty. This list holds the outside addresses the agent can reach directly. Your model calls do not need an entry here. See Security model.
  8. Select Create sandbox.

The message Sandbox created appears. The Sandboxes page opens.

Note

Attachment model and Small model are optional. Leave them as they are.

Check It Worked

  • The Sandboxes table lists your sandbox by its Name.

If It Does Not Work

  • The wizard shows Select at least one model to continue. Add a model on the Models step.
  • The Models step shows No inference providers are configured. Select Open provider setup, add the provider in the new tab, then select Refresh. Your draft stays in place.
